Last Saturday, there were 8 matches played that night:
Tottenham VS Arsenal
Watford VS Man.City
Charlton VS Sheffield United
West Ham VS Everton
Fulham VS Blackburn
Liverpool VS Wigan
Bolton VS Reading
Man Utd VS Middlesbrough
Watford drew with Man.City at home with a 1-1 full time score. Watford are now relegated to the Championship next week. Watford fought hard to stay in the premiership this season but the quality of their players is not good enough for them to stay up in the top divison. GoodLuck Watford for the up-coming season & I’m sure that they will be back in the premiership soon. As for Man.City, there are now save for relegation & will look ahead for the next season.
A bottom of the table clash was played at the Valley between Charlton & Sheffield. In the end Sheffield had the last laugh as they managed to get a draw out of Charlton. Charlton is still in the relegation zone but they are only a few points behind Sheffield United. The last relegation spot is still wide open between Charlton, Sheffield, Wigan & West Ham.
West Ham (another candidate for been relegated this season) won against Everton by 1-0. Despite the loss, Everton is still fifth at the table and will be playing for UEFA cup next season. As for West Ham, they are still fighting their safety & with a few games left, we will see either they survive or not.
Fulham still couldn’t find a way to win a game as they yet again drew at home with Blackburn 1-1. Fulham are considered to be the draw specialist this season & next they will travel to the Emirates & Anfield. A tough 2 weeks for Fulham. On the other hand, Blackburn are still fighting for the top 6 spot but with Reading, Tottenham & Portsmouth at their sight, who will know.
Liverpool won comfortably at Anfield as they beat Wigan by 2-0. Liverpool are now 4 points ahead of Arsenal who is in 4th place & Liverpool will next face Chelsea in the Champions League. Wigan is still fighting in the EPL for their own survival. This season, Wigan’s performance is not up to par because of some injuries.
A shock defeat to Bolton at the Reebok Stadium as they were beaten 3-1 by Reading. Bolton took the lead but couldn’t hold it as Reading went riot on them in the last 20min. Bolton still occupied 5th place but Reading is not far off.
Manchester United was held to a 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough at Old Trafford. Currently Man United is 4points ahead of Chelsea (who will play on Sunday). Man United next play AC Milan in the Champions League & will hope to win the treble again this season. Middlesbrough is been a bogey team for United & yet again they could claimed 3 vital points & scored in the last min due to O’shea tackle.
