QF Champions League: Arsenal 2-4 Liverpool. (Agg Arsenal 3-5 Liverpool)
Arsenal's European dream ended at Anfield lastnight after a contentious penalty settled a pulsating Champions League tie in Liverpool's favour.
WHAT A MATCH. Arsenal scored 1st in the 13th mins. Goal scored by Diaby. But then, Liverpool were electrified in the 2nd second as they managed to scored 2 goals by Hypia & Torres. But then in the 84th min, Adebayor scored. * I was like, S**T, banar kah nie Arsenal k semi* It seemed like a decisive second away goal but Kolo Toure was harshly adjudged to have fouled Ryan Babel inside the box and Gerrard fired the penalty past Manuel Almunia. Then Babel scored in stoppage time to put the tie beyond doubt.
Arsenal stood just minutes away from a semi-final place before Gerrard and Babel ended their challenge.
It was heartbreaking for Arsenal and their noisy travelling fans. Now they must pick themselves up for a game which could determine their Premier League fate - a trip to Manchester United on Sunday.
Sigh. A good fighting spirit by the young Gunners. *Applause*
