Manchester United has won their 9th EPL title under Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign ( 15 years at Old Trafford). Last Saturday heroic save from their keeper, Van Der Sar proved crucial as Chelsea failed to win at the Emirates the day after. Man United win over their city rival, the blue side of Manchester – Man City – put them 8 points ahead of Chelsea. On Sunday, a must win situation for Chelsea as they travelled for the 1st time to the Emirates to face the Gunners. Surprisingly, Drogba & Cole wasn’t in the starting line up. Arsenal went 1-0 before the half-time break as they scored with a Gilberto’s spot kick and Chelsea went a man down.
Chelsea didn’t just gave up their title hopes as they went on the attack. In the end, once again,Essien scored against Arsenal. Both team could have won it in the end as Lampard’s drive was saved by Lehamann & Eboue’s piledriver strucked the wood-work. Final result, a 1-1 draw at the Emirates. Man United now have a 7 point lead with 2 games left to play for, then again, there was some controversy that Manchester United might have their points deducted following the transfer of Tim Howard. That could make things interesting. This week Man United face Chelsea at Old Trafford & this may put the title to rest.
